About a hundred years ago, people discovered that an increase in body temperature can cause certain tumors to subside. In 1884, Bruns reported that a case of advanced melanoma had hyperthermia above 40°C after infection with erysipelas. After a few days, the tumor completely subsided and survived for 8 years. In 1893, Coley reported 30 cases of cancer associated with hyperthermia. In 1918, it was recalled that the tumors in the literature naturally subsided, and 72 of the 166 cancers had a history of severe fever or fever treatment. Of the 26 sarcomas, 19 had a history of fever infection or heat treatment. In 1916 Percy reported that cervical cancer survived for 3 to 7 years with local warming above 45°C. 1932
