美丽向日葵为菊科多年生宿根草本花卉。它原产于北美伊利诺斯州。茎直立,底部叶片对生,株高15厘米时即可开花,一直开至顶端。株高可达1.2米。叶片卵形,长5～7厘米,先端尖,三出脉,边缘有粗大的锯齿,表面粗糙。头状花序单生枝顶,花径8～12厘米,总苞两列,舌状花,金黄色,宽线形,长约2.5厘米。瘦果无毛。由于舌状花瓣层层卷抱花心,两性花被包围起来,隔离自然传粉作用,所以授粉机率较低,因此一般不用种子繁殖,多在早春分株繁殖。
Beautiful sunflowers for Asteraceae perennial herb flowers. It is native to North America, Illinois. Since the tongue-like petals are curled around, the bisexual flowers are enclosed and isolated from the natural pollination. Therefore, the pollination rate is relatively low, therefore, it is generally not necessary for the seeds to multiply, and more for reproduction in early spring.
