The safety clearance is the minimum distance between aircraft flying in the same airspace to maintain a safe condition in order to reduce the risk of collisions between them. Taking into account the state of the aircraft movement, this interval is usually implemented on both horizontal and vertical planes, divided into longitudinal intervals and lateral intervals on the horizontal plane. The safety clearance required by an aircraft is usually expressed as a fixed numerical minimum interval in either direction and can not be violated at the same time. The horizontal direction is expressed in terms of distance or time, and the vertical direction is expressed in meters.
