Shanghai is an important industrial city in China. There are over 10,000 existing factories and enterprises with a wide range of toxic and hazardous operations and a large quantity of work. The task of occupational disease prevention and control is very heavy. The Shanghai Ministry of Health has set up the Institute of Occupational Health and Occupational Disease Prevention and Control.
