在我国传统社会中,“藏书”似乎是男性的专利。据《中国私家藏书史》考证,自春秋至现代共有5045位藏书家,其中5005位是男性;学界对传统藏书的研究,主要集中于对各类藏书史、藏书世家、进士藏书群体的研究,女性在传统藏书中似乎处于缺失状态。欣喜的是,一部30万字的《浙江女性藏书》独辟蹊径,成为首部为女性藏书“发声”的专著。据作者考证可知,浙江女性藏书发轫于南宋、鼎盛于明清、质变与飞跃于民国,故《浙江女性藏书》以“浙江女性藏书的历史轨迹”开篇,将女性藏书活动置于时代和社会大背景中,呈现了浙江女性藏书史
