1994年10月我向四川苍溪白鹤山园艺场邮购日香桂二叶小苗6株,5节小苗1株,盆栽于东南向阳台。经过3年的栽培,全部成活,长势良好。全部株高80厘米,冠幅30～40厘米,桩径2厘米左右。目前的花期与成龄佛顶珠月桂(在我地繁花期8月至次年5月)相同。玉溪地区气温条件是:年平均温度15.7℃左右,4～10月平均温度19℃左右,11月至次年3月份月平均温度11℃左右。昼夜温差较大。盆栽位置晴天阳光直晒7小时左右。由于邮购有诸多不便,日香桂又抗逆性强,容易栽培,生长迅速,于是我于5～6月利用修剪之机,进行扦插和皮下插接试验。60株扦插小苗全部生根成活,几株嫁接苗也大部成活。看来日香桂家庭繁殖
