《赫斯珀里得斯,或缪斯的花园》是约翰.埃文斯编纂的17世纪英国手稿札记书,具有文学、历史、文化等多方面的重要性,本文对这一手稿进行新的分析。通过校勘两个版本、调查物质证据,可以了解这些手稿的生产过程和编纂日期。笔者认为,福尔杰莎士比亚图书馆所藏Folger MS V.b.93既非复制品,亦非扩充版,而是《缪斯的花园》的母本,是残存版的基础;MS V.b.93的生产日期大约为1654—1666年,残存版大约为1655—1656年。论文最后讨论了出版商汉弗莱.莫塞莱的作用。
Hesperides, or The Muse Garden, is a 17th-century English manuscripts compilation written by John Evans, with many aspects of literature, history and culture. In this paper, a new analysis. By collating two versions and investigating material evidence, one can understand the production process and codification dates of these manuscripts. In my opinion, the Folger MS Vb93 in the Forger Shakespeare Library is neither a replica nor an extended version, but the mother of the Muse Garden, which is the basis of the surviving version; the production date of the MS Vb93 is about For 1654-1666, the surviving version was around 1655-1656. The paper finally discusses the role of publisher Humphrey Moseley.
