曲靖“5·17”隧道塌方是一次引起中央关心、国人注目的突发事故。历时133个小时的抢救,最终被困的12名工人全部脱险,这是一次胜利的生死大营救。2005年5月19日中午2时28分,新华网湖北频道转发了这样一则消息:“5月17日晚10点30分许,贵昆铁路沾益至昆明段的辅助隧道在施工过程中发生塌方,正在隧道内作业的12名工人受困于内,其中包括11名湖北十堰市工人。幸运的是通风管道的存在令12名受困工人有了生活所必需的氧气,受困的12名工人安然无恙。生死大营救在惊喜中展开……”我们第一时间获知此消息后,迅速上报编辑部。获准前往采访指令后,我立即预定次日赴昆明的头班飞机,历时5天的采访开始了。
