“铁壁合围难突破,暮色苍茫别红都。强渡湘江血如注,三军今日奔何处?”1934年10月,由于第五次反“围剿”失败,中央红军被迫实行战略转移。长征开始后,红军在突破敌军第四道封锁线湘江防线时遭到惨痛损失,人员锐减至3万多人。红军广大指战员都在思索:今后的路怎么走,仗怎么打?是向湘西前进,钻进敌人预先布好的罗网,还是向敌人力量薄弱的贵州前进?
"In October 1934, due to the failure of the Fifth Anti-encirclement and Suppression Campaign, the Central Red Army was forced to put into force Strategic shift. After the start of the Long March, the Red Army suffered a painful loss when it broke through the enemy line of the fourth blockade of the Xiangjiang River defense line and its staff dropped sharply to more than 30,000. They are going forward in western Hunan, marching into the enemy’s pre-arranged network or going to Guizhou where the enemy forces are weak?
