后来,方殷同志来看我,他热心的鼓励我写支歌词。我说我倒写了一首诗不象诗,歌不象歌的东西,他拿过去看了说,这可以当作歌词来谱曲……我说,要是谱曲,我觉得还不合适,我可以把它改写成进行曲的形式。因为这个抒情味儿重了,怕和进行曲的节拍不相称。他说还是由作曲家去安排吧!便拿走了。不久,贺绿订同志来找我,说他很愿意为这首歌子谱曲。
