台湾杉是世界上稀有珍贵树种,属杉科、台湾杉属(Taiwania Hayata)。在我国共有二种,即台杉、屠杉,其中台杉产于台湾省,屠杉产于云南、湖北及贵州,缅甸北部也见分布。目前在黔东南分布的是屠杉(Taiwaniaflousiana Gaussen),又名秃杉。台湾杉在黔东南均分布在高海拔地区,树形雄伟高耸,有“万木之王”之感。根据我们调查,台湾杉具有生长快,能飞籽成林,抗雪压、冰挂(雨淞)能力强;树皮薄、出材率高;木材纹理通直,轻柔,花纹十分美观等优点。是高山地区建立速生用材林基地的一个比较理想的优良树种。一、台湾杉的形态特征及在黔东南的分布
Taiwan fir is rare in the world species of trees, is Cedar, Taiwania (Hayward) (Taiwania Hayata). In our country, there are two kinds, namely, Chinese fir and cedar, of which Taiwan fir is produced in Taiwan.
