在肇庆市召开的’99广东省市老促会理事长座谈会,开得很成功,收获很大。与会同志反映,座谈会一年比一年开得好,主题鲜明,肇庆的经验丰富,还交流了各市老区建设和老促会工作的经验。肇庆老区建设最突出的经验是:立足山区,靠山靠路靠外,大力开发山区资源,加强交通基础设施,发展有地方特色的商品生产,外引内联,积极发展资源型工业,对农林、牧、渔产品进行加工和深加工,增加产值,增加经济收入,从而使老区人民逐步迈向小康。值得引起大家注意的是,罗天同志在会上对新世纪扶贫工作提出了新的思路,新的观点,新的方向,新的要求:“已达小康水平的老区,研究如何切实积极创造条件,向实现现代化发展。”各市的同志们必将奋发图强,向新的目标迈进,把老区的建设搞得好上加好。
