湖北省随州市地处中纬度季风环流区域的中部,属于北亚热带季风气候,常年气候温和,四季分明,光照充足,雨量充沛,为植物的生长创造了优越的生态环境。千年银杏谷位于湖北省随州市曾都区,绵延12公里,区内古银杏树连成片、构成群落,深藏群山之间,汇聚成谷,是世界四大密集成片的古银杏群落之一。银杏谷内有千岁以上的银杏树308株,百岁以上银杏树1.7万多株,定植银杏树510多万株,是全国乃至全世界分布最密集、保留最完好的一处古银杏树群落。群落与周围半丘陵半山区地形、湖泊河道、乡村农舍有机组合,互相映衬。2004年,
