In recent years, the Hunan Provincial Party Committee and the provincial government conscientiously implement the scientific concept of development and sustainable development strategy, pay close attention to energy-saving emission reduction, made more significant achievements. In the first half of 2007, the province’s large-scale industrial energy consumption decreased by 6.03% over last year. The energy consumption of key industries such as chemical industry, steel, building materials, electric power and petrochemical industries has dropped by more than 5%.
