1948年10月25日10时。 西柏坡中共中央所在地。 急电,北平地下党发来急电:蒋介石、傅作义妄图偷袭石家庄！ 情况十分严重。 从北平到石家庄只有600余里,保定以北的铁路基本为敌人所控制,而保定距石家庄只有300余里。如果进犯之敌借助机械化运输工具和空中优势,不顾一切地突进,少则两日,多则三日,便可到达百家庄;而我野战军主力尚在数百里之外的平绥线上,即使日夜兼程,赶到保定南面也至少需要四日。
