我们考察组在港期间参观访问了“英美烟草(香港)有限公司”.在参观该公司原材料库时,发现我国广西用麻布包装的烤烟叶,两边靠墙,堆码不成垛,杂乱堆放且有不少散包.尽管数量不算多,占用库房面积却不少.而美国烤烟叶,是用瓦楞纸板箱包装.四周不靠墙,可一直码到屋顶棚. 参观后,该公司生产部经理介绍说:本来中国烤烟叶的质量不错,价钱便宜,进港也方便.但由于包装不好,给生产带来很多困难: 一、中国出口的烤烟叶,不仅广西,其他地方如山东、辽宁、河南、贵州、云南等绝大多数都是六十公斤麻布包装.包装松散,体积大.不便使用机械化搬运,只能雇用价钱高而效率低的人工搬运.而美国的二百公斤压缩瓦楞纸箱,体积小,好码垛,便于实施机械化搬运,省力省钱,且能保护烟叶质量.
