Tungsten has recently been found in two Archean upper crustal rocks (3.8 billion years) in the Gold Hope area in West Greenland. The upper crust was in the form of an assemblage in the ancient gneissic complex of the Amitosu gneiss. The largest of these enclaves is the Ysurian upper crustal belt. The scheelite found in these inclusions is disseminated in bedded amphibolite with centimeter-sized crystals in the joints and centimeter-thick veins with massive scheelite.
