一、我区引种油橄榄概况象征中阿两党两国人民伟大友谊的木本油料树种——油橄榄,已成为我区深受群众喜爱的新作物,栽植面积逐年增大,繁殖数量日益加多.一九六九年,我区黄枚县苗圃及黄冈县回龙三队曾引入油橄榄250株,但由于刘少奇、林彪修正主义路线的干扰与破坏,引而不种,栽而不管,250株幼树仅存2株.一九七二年以来,在各级党委的重视与具体领导下,各级科技部门深入研究和大力推广,油橄榄已遍布我区十个县,46个引种点,三年时间,共栽植幼树1692株,保存1248株,大部分生长良好,已接近开花结果期,并繁殖苗木9388株,初步摸索到栽培、繁殖油橄榄的技术措施.预计不久油橄榄必将在我区各地普遍的开出友谊之花,结出友谊之果.
