This article describes a new method for monitoring the coiled tubing tension and pressure limits during operation. The conventional method of monitoring tubing limits in real time is to monitor the portion immediately below the annular rubber core of the blowout preventer; it works well for single wall tubing strings in shallow wells with lower wellhead pressures; however, for high pressure wells, For deep wells and high-deviated wells, it does not apply because the critical zone may not be directly below the BOP rubber annulus. The model presented in this paper replaces the need to monitor tubing in a dedicated area by dynamically tracking and monitoring the critical sections of the tubing during operation.
