Recently I wrote an article specifically comparing the power of history and current boxing greats against Robert Duran and Manny Pacquiao. Through statistics and watch video games, I had a strong nostalgia, of course not for Manny Pacquiao, purely miss Duran. When I first saw Tulane’s boxer on television for the first time I was surprised to see that there was still a guy with my last name on the boxing ring. Tulane’s surname is not as common as Smith or other very common surnames, so people who call Duran can be said to be rare. But my grandmother, Mary Jane, told me that Duran is actually a very ordinary Spanish surname, and that this surname is likely to have royal roots.
