The data were fully processed: including hand-thin test, point review, grid value, the segment difference and point value calculation. Then the effects of accidental errors, system errors and environmental interferences are analyzed in detail. This article focuses on the reliability of gravity changes before the MS7.8 Tangshan earthquake on July 28, 1976. It is confirmed that the gravity change of +98 microgas observed from 1971 to 1976 is a precursor to the earthquake.
