2008年7月4日,电影《赤壁》(上)全国公映,并创下内地票房3.2亿人民币的新记录。2009年1月7日,《赤壁》(下)用1400个拷贝席卷全国,能否再次打破内地票房新记录成为媒体关注的焦点。吴宇森成功拍摄好莱坞商业电影《变脸》和《碟中谍2》后,成了好莱坞炙手可热的华人导演。但在拍了两部不卖座的电影后,他回到中国内地,用好莱坞制作方式拍摄了一部具有独特中国元素的大片《赤壁》。在影片宣传拉开大幕之时,本刊特约记者在上海Westin大酒店采访了吴宇森。
