Vincent van Gogh (1853-1890) and Edward Munch (1863-1944) One is a post-Impressionist representative, one is a forerunner of expressionism. Inspired by his inner fear, anxiety and intense love, Munch’s creative inspiration expresses his inner feelings through his creation and opens the door to expressionism. Van Gogh life impoverished, lonely, but full of enthusiasm for painting. It burns itself to accomplish his art, leaving a great deal of art treasures and profound artistic reflections for the world. As a personality sensitive artist. Both of them demonstrated the anguish and anxiety caused by their unique life experience and the social reality in which they live. Even more clever is that both artists belong to the abnormal personality who in art practice have reached an unmanageable height of ordinary people.
