Training Practical and Theoretical Issues for Chinese Students The scale of the Soviet Union’s assistance has been particularly striking in organizing the training of Sun Yat-sen Chinese laborers, later China’s Communist universities. When the young Soviet republic had not completely overcome the trauma of internal war and imperialist intervention, it had already borne the expenses of guaranteeing the supply of all its students. In order to give overall material assistance to the Chinese laborers’ universities, the Soviet Union established the Association of Chinese Laborers for the Promotion of Sun Yat-sen.
