In recent years, with the further implementation of the party’s open-door policy, foreign-invested enterprises in our country have developed rapidly. By the end of 1993, a total of 153,000 “three-funded” enterprises had been approved nationwide, of which 47,000 had already been put into official operation, and 6 million were employed by the Chinese side. In general, most foreign-invested companies and investors are able to abide by our laws and regulations and respect the legitimate rights and interests of Chinese employees. The labor relations are relatively harmonious and the economic benefits of enterprises are good. However, there are also a number of foreign investors who ignore China’s laws.
