北海市海城区位于美丽的北部湾畔,是国家第一批十四个沿海开放城市之一——北海市的政治、经济、文化中心,是北海市对外开放的形象和窗口。下辖3镇和 5个办事处,总面积140平方公里,总人口23万多人。自1984年12月20日建区,20年来,海城区工业经济实现新突破,现代农业迈出新步伐,第三产业形成新优势,招商引资取得新成果,财政收入达到新水平,社区建设呈现新亮点,人民生活有了新改善,社会稳定得到新巩固,机关建设喜见新气象,社会事业再上新台阶, 逐步形成“一园(海域区民营工业园)、一带(沿地角外沙水产品综合加工贸易带),一区(涠洲岛旅游度假区)、一中心(市区商贸中心)”四大经济板块的经济格局。
