由海南省海洋开发规划设计研究院的科研人员组成的一个海南海洋生态调查组,在一次对珊瑚礁和海草的调查中,意外地发现了“海底草原”奇景。这一景观分别在海南省东海岸的文昌高隆湾、琼海龙湾港和陵水新村港一带礁坪内侧,以及沿岸港湾(水深两米左右)。发现的大面积海草床,面积3～5平方千米不等,种类主要有喜盐藻、海菖蒲、泰莱草、二药藻4种,海草高的达1米多。而在海南岛的西海岸则极少有分布。
A Hainan marine ecological survey team, composed of researchers from the Hainan Provincial Institute of Ocean Development Planning and Design, accidentally discovered a “sea grassland” wonder in a survey of coral reefs and seagrasses. This landscape is located on the inner reef plateau of Wenchang Gaolong Bay, Qionghai Longwan Port and Lingshui Xincun Port on the east coast of Hainan Province, and the coastal harbors (water depth is about two meters). The large-scale seagrass beds discovered ranged in size from 3 to 5 square kilometers, and the species mainly consisted of four types of halophilic algae, genus Haloxylon, Tetrachloropsis alaeensis, and Diterpenoid algae. The height of seagrass was more than 1 metre. On the west coast of Hainan Island, there is very little distribution.
