渝麦4号是重庆市农科所1980年用77—中—2882×巴麦18杂交,经8年9代选育而成。于1988年12月由重庆市农作物品种审定委员会通过审定命名。该品种长芒、白壳、叶耳紫红色。春性、早熟,比绵阳11迟熟2天左右。株高92厘米左右,株形紧凑,耐肥抗倒,分蘖力弱,成稳率高。穗长13~14厘米,小穗数26个左右,平均每穗65粒左右,中部小穗结实6~7粒,千粒重38克左右。经四川省植保所三年鉴定,其抗病性优于对照种绵阳11号;高抗条锈、叶锈病,感染白粉病,轻感赤霉病。主要品质指标经商业部四川绵阳粮食贮藏研究所分析:容重819.5克/升;出粉率73.01%;粗蛋白15.46%;湿面筋29.15%,是一个综合性状显著超亲的优质小麦新品种。
