1994年1月21日,矿产系及学校其它系师生欢聚一堂,庆祝赵鹏大、殷鸿福教授当选为中国科学院院士,向两位老师表示最诚挚的祝贺和崇高的敬意。 赵鹏大教授长期从事“矿床普查与勘探”和“数学地质”两个学科的教学和研究工作,他作风扎实,治学严谨,具有高深的学术造诣。40多年来,他艰苦创业,执着追求,足迹踏遍了祖国的大江南北、崇山峻岭、戈壁沙漠,尤其是当他60岁高龄时,仍坚持到新疆的塔喀拉玛干大沙漠和云贵高原三江地区的深山密林去实地考察和科学研究。他把理论同实践紧密地结合起来,系统地总结了科学找矿的理论和方法,为发展“矿床普查与勘探”重点学科做出了突出贡献,并在实践中实现了将理论找矿、综合找矿、立体找矿和定量找矿融为一体的科学找矿途径.赵鹏大教授思想敏锐、勇于创新、善于钻研新知,探讨新理论、把握科学新动态.他把数学同地质有机地结合起来,率先在我国开展数学地质研究,建立起独具特色的数学地质学科
