With the widespread application of new media technologies in our country, the network culture has undergone tremendous changes. An ordinary event spread through the media coverage as a whole and even became a major event that triggered numerous netizens to crowd and participate. In this process, public opinion will be the object of being manipulated and guided in the incident. People lose their rational thinking in the process of event development, resulting in one-sided public opinion. This article will take the example of “Six Little Children’s Events in 2016” as an example to analyze how public opinion is constructed in the new media events.
