湘西的山水和人是灵秀的、朴野的,山水和人物的色彩积翠堆蓝、浑然天成。“积翠边城——大美湘西中国画展”作为2014东盟文化年由湖南省委、省政府主办的“湖南文化走进泰国”的一项重要内容,目前在泰国首都曼谷展出。展览借用沈从文笔下湘西“灵秀朴野”、“积翠堆蓝”之语以及“边城”之湘西代名词为展览题目,语义双关,一方面是对湘西人文自然景观多姿多彩的赋色,另一方面又是艺术家对湘西入文自然景观浓墨重彩
