In his studv of the transformation of historical tradition in Hittite literature H. Gterbock published, translated and briefly commented on the major part of a curious Old Hittite text relating unprecedented cases of cannibalism in Northern Syria (G(?)rbock 1938). Because of a mixture of legendary and historical characteristics the text was included by Citerbock into the category of “traditional literature” (1938:112). In hicatalogue of Hittite texts E.Laroche put KBo Ⅲ 60 (together with KUB XXⅢ 7 and XXXⅥ 126) in the group “Fragments relatifs aux guerres hourrites” (CTH 17).
