Objective To investigate the changes of urinary protein in different periods and its significance in the diagnosis of pregnancy-induced hypertension syndrome. Methods A total of 46 patients with no history of hypertension and chronic nephritis before pregnancy were enrolled. Twenty-four hour urine samples of pregnant women with elevated blood pressure after 20 weeks of gestation were collected. The levels of urinary protein in three periods of 8, 12 and 24 hours were detected, and the unit regression analysis was performed. Results Of 46 cases, 10 cases had no urine protein, 25 cases had mild and moderate urinary protein, and 11 cases had severe urinary protein. In patients with mild, moderate and severe proteinuria, there was a significant correlation between 8-hour urine samples and 24-hour urine samples; 12-hour urine samples were compared with 24-hour urine samples in patients with no albuminuria and those with mild, moderate, and severe proteinuria There was a very significant correlation between the groups. Conclusions The determination of urinary protein at 8 or 12 hours for the diagnosis of pregnancy-induced hypertension has the same value as 24-hour urine samples.
