So far the promotion and application of phased array radar has not yet opened the situation. Few radar systems are in operation, and these systems are generally built without regard to price. MESAR is an experimental advanced phased array radar that validates the concept of reducing the price of phased array radars and further raising awareness of the potential of these high technologies. The experimental radar has a S-band solid-state active matrix, array transceiver module is the application of gallium arsenide monolithic microwave integrated circuits. It also employs techniques such as digital beamforming, partial adaptive arrays, programmable waveform generation, and programmable signal processing.
