【Abstract】Series Harry Potter belongs to novel of magic realism. Although series Harry Potter is divided into children’s literary works， it attracts people in all age groups. As hero of Harry Potter， Harry， a boy who mature gradually， has unusual experience of resisting Dark Lord Voldemort. Obviously， Harry and Voldemort， who stand for justice and evil separately， are important roles in novel. J.K Rowling designs many connect and coincidence between Harry and Voldemort to lead the development of plot. In fact， Harry and Voldemort are in a unity of opposite. Therefore， the work presented in this paper will focus on unity of opposite between Harry Potter and Voldemort.

As one of the bestsellers in the contemporary era， series Harry Potter bring readers a series of amazing stories. In Harry Potter， J.K Rowling presents us a magic feast by building vivid characters， especially two characters—Harry Potter and Voldemort.
Harry Potter and Voldemort are two main characters in the series Harry Potter. They are so different， but they are connected by a lot of delicate links. They two are in a state of unity of opposite.
Unity of opposite belongs to a philosophical concept. Unity of opposite is also called contradiction. Contradiction has two basic attribute： identity and belligerence. As two parties of contradiction， Harry Potter and Voldemort’s delicate relationship is reflected by identity and belligerence between them.
With internal， organic and inalienable relationship between Harry Potter and Voldemort， their identity is reflected from three points： interpenetration， interdependence and interconversion between Harry Potter and Voldemort.
Delicate similarities and connections of Harry Potter and Voldemort reflect the interpenetration between Harry Potter and Voldemort. At the same time， Harry Potter and Voldemort interdepend on each other. Voldemort revive again thanks to Harry’s blood， but only one can be alive between Harry and Voldemort. Besides， due to similar background and sad experience at young age， it’s possible for Harry to choose the same way like Voldemort. Under certain condition， Harry Potter and Voldemort， the two parties of the contradiction can transform into each other. It’s interconversion between Harry Potter and Voldemort.
In addition to identity， there is belligerence existing between Harry Potter and Voldemort. Mutual repulsion and mutual inhibition are two reflection of belligerence between Harry Potter and Voldemort， two parties of contradiction. As two parties of the contradiction， Harry Potter and Voldemort have the trend of the mutual repulsion. Although Harry Potter and Voldemort have similar experience and ability， they choose different way of life. The conflicts between Harry Potter and Voldemort last for a long time. Voldemort loses his power because of Harry， and regains his power because of Harry. However， Harry cannot kill Voldemort with his wand because their wands are twins. The mutual inhibition like those between them constantly last until the death of Voldemort.
As two basic attribute of contradiction， identity and belligerence have their differences and connections.
Identity and belligerence are different from each other. The identity between Harry and Voldemort is relative， while the belligerence absolute. On the one hand， the identity of Harry and Voldemort is conditional. Only under some condition can there be so many similarities and connections between Harry and Voldemort. On the other hand， the belligerence between Harry and Voldemort is unconditional. Opposite pursuit makes Harry becomes Harry but not another Voldemort.
Identity and belligerence connect with each other. There is belligerence in identity and without belligerence， identity doesn’t exist. Harry and Voldemort’s conflicts are in a big unity environment—the wizards and witches’ magic world. If there is no identity between them， their sharp conflicts are not reasonable. Besides， throughout the story of Harry Potter， Harry and Voldemort’s conflicts constantly continue and these conflicts make the whole story complete and meaningful.
The arrangement of Harry Potter and Voldemort is full of wisdom of philosopher. Interpenetration， interdependence and interconversion between Harry Potter and Voldemort reflect the identity of Harry Potter and Voldemort. At the same time， Mutual repulsion and mutual inhibition between Harry Potter and Voldemort reflect the belligerence of Harry Potter and Voldemort. As two basic attribute of contradiction—unity of the opposite， identity and belligerence’s differences and connection enrich these two characters—Harry Potter and Voldemort. Ultimately， it’s obvious that Harry Potter and Voldemort are in unity of opposite.
