美学理论认为,优美是一种阴柔之美,它和谐、含蓄、细腻;壮美则表现阳刚之气,它豪放、直率、雄壮。诗歌将二种美集中体现在主人公木兰女扮男装、替父从军这一特定的历史事件之中。
The aesthetic theory holds that beauty is a kind of feminine beauty. It is harmonious, subtle and delicate. Masculine shows masculinity. It is bold, straightforward and majestic. Poetry embodies the two kinds of beauty in the specific historical events of the protagonist Mulan who disguise themselves as men and replace the father with the army.
