This article describes a fiber optic acoustic sensor made using standard multimode communication fibers. The device can be used in the frequency range of 300 ~ 3400Hz (non-uniformity of 9dB), signal to noise ratio of up to 43dB (0.1Pa.A weighted) at 1000Hz.
