Luquan and Miao Autonomous County is located in the northern part of central Hebei Province and has abundant water resources. This gives Luquan a unique natural advantage in the development of hydropower. There are 21 rivers with a runoff area of over 50 square kilometers in Luquan, and the low altitude from the north to the south brings a huge gap to these rivers. The Wudongde power station in design is located in Luqin. The large power station on the upper reaches of the Jinsha River dates back to the 1950s.
