五氯酚是抗微生物和杀霉菌剂,用为木材和其他材料的防腐剂,有时也用于除莠、杀虫和杀软体动物。晚近,发现商品制剂中含有少量的各种非酚类的杂质,特别是6-、7-或8-氯联苯-对-二噁英和二苯并呋喃类曾被检出。
Pentachlorophenol is an antimicrobial and fungicide, used as a preservative in wood and other materials, and sometimes in herbicides, insecticides and molluscs. Recently, a small amount of various non-phenolic impurities, particularly 6-, 7- or 8-chlorobiphenyl-p-dioxins and dibenzofurans, have been found in commercial preparations.
