Lao Yougou Iron Ore Project has been involved in the low-temperature and deep-level verification since 1976, and the average depth of drilling holes gradually increased in 1980 to 280m, 310m, 520m, 550m and 560m respectively. Before 1974, large-diameter drill bit drilling can be used to smooth the construction of ordinary mud. However, with the application and promotion of small-diameter diamond drilling, ordinary finely divided mud has become unsuitable. When drilling with clear water, due to the complicated stratum, collapsing block, water leakage and gushing water make great difficulties to the construction and can not even be produced normally. This is the main technical problem in drilling small-diameter diamonds in Laohugou Mine. Therefore, the protection of the wall in complex formations in Laoyougou iron mine area has become a research topic to be solved urgently.
