IP 与以太网结合Extreme Networks 一直都坚定地相信,以太网及 IP 两个技术是话音及数据的最合适平台,最后达到所有地方都是 IP 及以太网应用。为了实现这一目标,为了能够给用户提供一个投资少回报高的方案,4月24日公布了最新的干兆以太网交换机 Alpine3800系列。Alpine3800面向城域网络,是专门为满足延迟要求高的应用(如话音、图像)而设计的第一台基于以太网及 IP 的宽带交换设备。它进一步加强了 Extreme 基于以太网及 IP 应用上高容量、数据优化光纤网络的城域网络方案。使企业及城域网络应用拥有更大带宽能力,同时使用户能分配这些带宽给不同等级的服务,延迟固定保证满足图像及话音应用。Alpine3800的特点往于,它采用 IP TDM(Time Division Multiplexing)技术,即利用 IPTDM 把电路仿真功能加入第三层 IP,使固定延迟
