Urease (E.C. 3.5.1.5) is also known as urease or urea amide hydrolase. It has been reported in vitro experiments, mercury and its compounds have a strong inhibitory effect on urease activity. In order to explore the possibility of measuring urease activity as a monitoring indicator of the impact of mercury contamination on human health, we conducted in vivo rat studies. Forty Wistar rats (provided by Experimental Animal Center of Hunan Medical University) with a body weight of 180-230 g and half male and half were randomly divided into four groups (n = 10). Group I was the control group; Group II was the combination of lead, cadmium and arsenic; Group III was the mercury-exposed group; Group IV was the combination of lead, cadmium, arsenic and mercury. Control group to tap water, the second group to lead (lead nitrate A.R), cadmium
