In 1975, Simonvitch et al. Often observed that plants had an increased content of unsaturated fatty acids at low temperatures. However, there are a few exceptions reported in the literature about poplar, black locust cortex and potatoes tubers. Low temperature increased the accumulation of linolenic acid in winter wheat, but this accumulation of linolenic acid did not seem to be related to the domestication of wheat at low temperature. To explore the relationship between these two phenomena, we observed the effects of light and temperature on the cold tolerance and linolenic acid composition of winter wheat.
