1999年9月5日,《财富》杂志公布的“全美40岁以下40位首富排行榜”中,年仅31岁的杨致远是惟一入选的美籍华人,并以30.5亿美元的财产名列第6位,成为美国最年轻的华人首富。在这40名亿万大富豪中,最为年轻的富豪分别为:26岁的“英克托米”软件公司董事长高锡尔以4.2亿美元的财富名列第21位,29岁的“无限企业”董事长米勒以3.6亿美元名列第28位,29岁的“医生网络”董事长阿诺德以3.5亿美元名列第33位,接下来就数“雅虎”公司创史人之一的杨致远与同为31岁的“红帽”公司董事长尤英(排名第13位)最为年轻。“雅虎”公司的另一位创史人、33岁的戴维·菲洛以31.2亿美元名列第5位。“雅虎”公司也是《财富》富豪榜上同一家公司有两名高级主管上榜的惟一一家公司。
