我们的任务是一手抓铁,一手抓钢,广泛开展土铁炼钢和土法炼钢的群众运动自从党中央政治局扩大会议以后,各地在省市委统一领导,书记亲自挂帅,各方热烈的协助与支持下,充分发动了群众,全党全民大办钢铁事业,形成了一个全国范围的钢铁生产大跃进的高潮。在国庆前夕,出现了钢铁丰产的卫星日,全国有五千多万人参加了钢铁战线的斗争,铁产量由原来平均日产3.5万吨跃到29.5万吨,钢产量由原来的2.6万吨跃到5.8万吨。
