We have reported that the administration of exogenous cyclic adenosine monophosphate (cAMP) via intracerebroventricular injection significantly antagonizes the effects of electroacupuncture and morphine analgesia. The injection of cAMP in the range of 50 ~ 400 micrograms of electroacupuncture analgesic effect can be observed with the dose of the logarithm showed a linearly negative correlation. In contrast, intracerebroventricular injection of cGMP significantly potentiated the effects of electroacupuncture and morphine analgesia. In addition, by injecting cGMP or db eGMP into the rat’s habenula by burying the impotence tube, it can also enhance the electroacupuncture analgesia and delay the development of electroacupuncture.
