葡萄在哈密地区是埋土越冬的果树,很少发生冻害,但如果栽植方法不合理,肥、水管理不当,遇到低温寒冷气候,也会发生冻害,尤其是新植2—3年的小葡萄,冻害将会使直株死亡。一九八四年冬季由于气候较往年寒冷,哈密各农场定植三年以下的小葡萄园近5000亩遭受冻害,死亡率高达90％以上,使葡萄生产受到严重损失。为发展葡萄生产,对幼龄葡萄园的冻害进行了调查。
