沈云龙先生所著《民国史事与人物》,由沈先生座谈会发言记录以及专栏文章计30余篇汇成,篇幅近六百页,因沈先生对近代史事与传记人物,常不断有别出心裁之崭新构想,且感当代历史系大学生及研究生对民国史之迷惑不解,故虽知以当代人论当代史必为当代所不喜,难免唐突时贤,亦无怨偏向虎山,为历史求真见信。沈先生评点人物,讲究独见,寓情于理,该书中有大量对于民国人物的评点,国父孙中山、宋教仁、黄兴、汤化龙、陈独秀、蔡元培、陈炯明、张作霖等等民国风云人物,俱见之笔下,笔者当与诸君共讨先生眼中的民国那些人。
