河北省科技厅所属的国家半干旱中心翟学军博士经过多年努力,培育出了目前国内熟性最早的短季棉新品种“546”,该品种具有生育期短、高度耐密的特点,在河北省中南部小麦收获后直播可实现250kg／亩的籽棉产量,与春播基本持平,10月15日前吐絮达90％以上,不影响下茬小麦播种,真正实现了小麦、棉花“双直播、双高产”的目标,同时较春播棉亩减少投入100元左右,较麦后玉米亩增收400-500元。专家组认为,“546”以及麦后直播种植技术达到黄河流域春播棉中等以上产量水平,亩增收300-500元,是我国夏播棉研究上的一大突破,为提高复种指数、缓解粮棉争地、合理倒茬轮作等提供了新的技术保障。
