This paper reports the investigation of trace elements in the environment of the Kizils basin. The results show that the content of trace elements I, Mn, Cu, Zn, Fe and Ba in drinking water is low; the contents of Sr, Co and Cr are relatively high. Manganese which is lower than the national drinking water standard 25 times. In endemic goiter severe endemic areas, found in 16 patients with cartilage disorders, patients with no obvious mental retardation, the average height of 1.25 water, of which 8 cases 1.1 meters. Large head wide, limbs stubby, especially the calf stubby more pronounced. Skeletal radiographs showed that the brachial, femoral, ulnar, radial, tibial, fibular, phalanges, phalanges, enlarged distal ends, osteoporosis, cortical thinning, thickening of the corticoids in the medial trunk, short femoral heads, Flat small, hip varus and other features. The total manganese content in the ward soil and the available manganese content were lower than those in the non-ward area. Accordingly, the author speculated that the cause of cartilage development disorders, mainly due to lack of manganese body.
